The Galena Vision 2020 Art Center Committee is sponsoring a
pop-up gallery "The Art Lives On, Celebrating Galena's departed
Artists". This exhibit showcases the work of 26 artists who lived in
Galena at some time in the last 60 years, and are now
deceased. This exhibit is a stunning example of the strength and
vigor of the arts community which has endured in Galena for decades.
It serves as a consciousness raising event as we work to nourish
awareness of this valuable art resource which continues to grow and
enhance our future.
Carole and Jan are working with
the Galena Vision 2020 planning committee to create an arts and cultural
center in Galena, which would include a theatre and an art gallery.
If you have input in any way for this project, please contact us.

Jan designed the set and Carole
directed the production of the
Humperdinck opera "Hansel and Gretel" which was performed
in
March 2012 at the Dubuque Museum of Art.
Jan was the featured artist of the
2007 Autumn Art Show at the Stone House Pottery & Gallery .
Examples of his scenic design work from the last 17 years were shown through models,
drawings and photographs . The exhibit is long gone, but we like this
set picture from "Foxfire" so much we just leave it in here!
